Belphegor, Phantom of the Louvre
Directed by Jean-Paul Salomé, this 2001 French fantasy-horror film is loosely adapted from Arthur Bernède's 1927 novel Belphégor, marking the third screen adaptation of the book. Sophie Marceau stars alongside Michel Serrault, Julie Christie, and Juliette Gréco. The story follows a woman (Marceau) who becomes possessed by the spirit of a mummy housed in the Louvre, unleashing a series of uncanny events inside the museum. The production holds the distinction of being the first feature film ever shot partly inside the world-famous Musée du Louvre. Salomé co-wrote the screenplay with Danièle Thompson and Jérôme Tonnerre.
