Desert Assault

Desert Assault (original title: La battaglia del deserto) is a 1969 Franco-Italian co-production blending war and drama. Directed by Mino Loy from a screenplay by Ernesto Gastaldi, the film features a score by Bruno Nicolai. Shot in Italian and running about 87 minutes, it was released in France under the title Sept Hommes pour Tobrouk.

The ensemble cast includes Robert Hossein, Frank Wolff, Ida Galli, George Hilton, Rik Battaglia, Jacques Castelot, Laura Belli and Robert Dalban. As its various titles suggest, the film tells a story of combat set on the desert front, standing as a typical example of the European co-production war films that flourished in the late 1960s.
