Eastern Man, Western Woman
Eastern Man, Western Woman (Persian: مرد شرقی و زن فرنگی) is an Iranian feature film released in 1975. Shapoor Gharib served as both its director and its screenwriter. Shot in Persian, the picture belongs to the body of popular cinema produced in Iran before the 1979 revolution.
The leading roles are played by Morteza Aghili and Mohammadtaghi Kohanmouei, with Geeti Forouhar, Abbas Nazeri, Diana and Touti Salimi rounding out the ensemble. Running roughly 94 minutes, the film is one of the period's characteristic productions, its title signalling the encounter between Eastern and Western sensibilities.
