Elephant and Teacup (Persian: Fil o Fanjun) is an Iranian comedy film directed, written and produced by Rahim Roshanian, dating to the Persian calendar year 1345 (1966). Shot in Persian and running around 90 minutes, it features a cast that includes Hassan Rezaei and Humayun Tebrizyan alongside other performers of the era such as Nosratollah Vahdat, Javad Qaem-Maghami, Akbar Hashemi, Dalileh Namazi and a young Googoosh, who would later become one of Iran's most famous singers. The film belongs to the commercial cinema of pre-revolutionary Iran, a period in which light comedies formed a staple of domestic production. Detailed accounts of its plot are scarce in available sources, but its playful title suggests the comic, satirical tone typical of Roshanian's popular entertainments.
