Fanfan (film)

Fanfan is a 1993 French romantic comedy written and directed by Alexandre Jardin. The film is an adaptation of Jardin's own best-selling 1990 novel of the same name, which was translated into nearly two dozen languages. Sophie Marceau and Vincent Perez star in the leading roles, and the production was backed by Gaumont. Released in France in 1993 with a running time of roughly ninety minutes, the film is also known in some markets as Fanfan & Alexandre. Blending comedy, romance and melodrama, it brought Jardin's popular love story to the screen and became one of the notable French romantic films of its period.
