Last Summer (Geçen Yaz)

Last Summer is a 2021 Turkish coming-of-age and romantic drama film directed by Ozan Açıktan and released on Netflix on July 9, 2021. Co-written by Açıktan and Sami Berat Marçali, the film stars Ece Çeşmioğlu, Fatih Berk Şahin, Halit Özgür Sarı and Aslıhan Malbora.

Set in a coastal town in the late 1990s, the story begins when 16-year-old Deniz arrives with his family for their usual summer holiday. As he tries to confess his feelings to Aslı, whom he has known since childhood, he realizes she is growing closer to Burak, an older boy. This innocent first love, tangled with unrequited emotions and jealousy, brings the growing pains, disappointments and emotional turmoil of adolescence to the screen.
