Erdem Şanlı — Biography

Erdem Şanlı was born on 2 September 1996 in İzmir, the eldest child in a family of Bosnian descent. In 2015 he moved to Istanbul after being admitted to Istanbul University's Radio, Cinema and Television programme, and began his career behind the camera as an assistant director on television productions before training as an actor under the guidance of actor Rıza Kocaoğlu.

He made his on-screen debut in the series Avlu, playing the younger version of the show's lead character. He went on to appear in Vatanım Sensin and played Dinçer in the ATV series Eşkıya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz, alongside Burak Sergen. He also worked in film, appearing in Geçen Yaz in 2021, and in 2023 he played a character nicknamed Zıpkın in the series Ateş Kuşları.

He reached a wide audience through the character İso in the series Taşacak Bu Deniz, which began in 2025, and remains a frequent subject of entertainment press coverage because of the role.
