Ece Çeşmioğlu — Biography

Born in Istanbul on 26 November 1990, Ece Çeşmioğlu is a Turkish actress. She studied theatre at the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University State Conservatory, graduating in 2015. Cast in commercials as a child, she debuted at twelve in the 2002 series Çocuklar Duymasın and gained real recognition playing Ceren in the 2006 series İki Aile.

She earned her first television lead as Bahar in Firar (2011), then reached a wider audience with the 2012 hit Öyle Bir Geçer Zaman Ki. In the 2015 series Muhteşem Yüzyıl: Kösem she played Atike Sultan, and she appeared in Kalbim Yangın Yeri the following year. With her future husband Taner Ölmez she starred as Zeynep in Yüz Yüze (2017), the same year she took a part in the military drama Söz. In 2018 she joined the series Yuvamdaki Düşman and won a Promising Actress prize at the Üstün Akmen Theatre Awards for the stage play Dogville.

Her cinema debut came with Ev (2009), a satire of reality-television culture; she went on to appear in Türkler Geliyor: Adaletin Kılıcı, Tutunamayanlar (both 2020) and Geçen Yaz (2021), then played Yonca in Yakamoz S-245, a 2022 Netflix production. She married fellow actor Taner Ölmez in June 2021, and the couple's daughter Zeynep and son Hazar were born in 2022 and 2024. Press reports say that after a long hiatus she is due back on screen in early 2026 with the series Yeraltı.
