Hatam-e Taei

Hatam-e Taei is a 1966 Iranian feature written and directed by Mohammad-Ali Fardin, who also appears in the lead role. The Persian-language picture runs roughly 115 minutes and blends dramatic and romantic elements.

Joining Fardin on screen are Humayun Tebrizyan, Mohsen Arasteh, Houshang Beheshti, Akbar Khajavi, Iran Ghaderi and Pouri Banayi, all familiar faces of Iranian cinema of that era. The film is named after Hatim of the Ta'i tribe, a figure celebrated across Arabic and Islamic lore for his legendary open-handedness. It stands as a product of Iran's commercial film industry in the years before the 1979 revolution.
