Kerr, a 2021 thriller-tinged drama from director Tayfun Pirselimoğlu, is adapted from his own novel of the same title, and he wrote the screenplay himself. At its heart is a man who witnesses a killing in a remote town while attending his father's burial. He reports the incident to authorities, yet is barred from leaving; the locals seem far more curious about who he is and why he showed up than about the crime itself.

His situation worsens once an outbreak forces the town into isolation from the outside world. A chance encounter with the killer at his late father's old shop, plus learning he's suspected of an unrelated offense, pushes him to try to escape—only to find every road sealed under a countrywide curfew. The filmmaker has described the title as a nod to repetition, to the idea of starting again after something has ended.

Besides the actor playing the lead and the performer cast as the town's sole female figure, the ensemble features Rıza Akın, Gafur Uzuner, Ali Seçkiner, Melih Düzenli, and Sinan Bengier. The picture earned directing and scoring honors at a national festival, screened in competition abroad, and was later put forward as the country's submission for the foreign-language Oscar, though it fell short of the shortlist.
