I'm Not Him (Ben O Değilim)

I Am Not Him (Ben O Değilim, 2013) is a Turkish drama written and directed by Tayfun Pirselimoğlu, built around themes of identity and loneliness. Nihat, a middle-aged bachelor working in a hospital cafeteria, leads a monotonous life until his new colleague Ayşe begins showing him unexpected attention. When she invites him over for dinner, a wedding photograph on the wall turns his world upside down: Ayşe's imprisoned husband looks like Nihat's twin. This strange coincidence opens the door to a doppelgänger story that pulls Nihat away from his ordinary existence and into a transformation he could never have predicted.

Starring Ercan Kesal and Maryam Zaree, the 125-minute film was shot primarily in Izmir. It is Pirselimoğlu's sixth feature, and it received the Best Turkish Film award at the 33rd Istanbul Film Festival. Internationally, the film circulated under the title I Am Not Him.
