L'Autrichienne
L'Autrichienne is a 1990 French historical film directed by Pierre Granier-Deferre. It portrays the final days of Marie Antoinette, played by Ute Lemper, from her trial to her execution.
The screenplay by Alain Decaux and André Castelot draws on the actual minutes of the queen's trial. Shot during the celebrations of the bicentenary of the French Revolution, the film unfolds largely as a chamber piece set in the courtroom and the Conciergerie, punctuated by flashback sequences. The cast also includes Rufus and Daniel Mesguich.
