La Horse
La Horse is a 1970 French-language crime drama directed by Pierre Granier-Deferre, who adapted the screenplay together with Pascal Jardin from Michel Lambesc's novel of the same name. A co-production of France, Italy and Germany, the film premiered in France on 22 February 1970 and reached German cinemas on 26 June 1970 under the title Der Erbarmungslose.
The leading roles are played by Jean Gabin, Eléonore Hirt, Christian Barbier and Marc Porel, with Danièle Ajoret also featured, while Dominique Zardi and Henri Attal appear among the cast as well. In slang, «horse» means heroin, which is where the film takes its title. The roughly 80-minute picture is also known in Italy as Il Clan degli uomini violenti.
