Maigret Sees Red (Maigret voit rouge)

Maigret Sees Red (French: Maigret voit rouge) is a French-Italian crime film from 1963, directed by Gilles Grangier. Shot in French and running about 87 minutes, it brings the Belgian writer Georges Simenon's detective, Commissaire Jules Maigret, to the screen, and it is known as the third film in which Jean Gabin plays the character.

The picture is based on Simenon's novel Maigret, Lognon et les gangsters and, as the title suggests, follows the commissaire as he deals with a gang of criminals. Grangier wrote the screenplay together with Jacques Robert. Alongside Gabin the cast includes Françoise Fabian, Michel Constantin, Vittorio Sanipoli, Marcel Bozzuffi and Roland Armontel, with Brad Harris, Guy Decomble, Harry-Max, Albert Michel and André Dalibert among the other names.

Filming took place at the Billancourt Studios in Paris and at various locations around the city, and the sets were designed by art director Jacques Colombier.
