Namus (Namus (film, 1925))
Namus is a 1925 silent film directed by Hamo Beknazaryan, remembered as the first Armenian feature film. Adapted from Alexander Shirvanzade's novel of the same name, it tells the tragedy of Susan and Seyran, two lovers crushed by rigid codes of honour and the weight of tradition. Hıraçya Nersesyan appears in the cast of this Armenfilm production. Namus is counted among the classics of Soviet silent cinema.
