Police Python 357

Police Python 357 is a 1976 French-German crime thriller written and directed by Alain Corneau. Starring Yves Montand alongside Simone Signoret, François Périer and Stefania Sandrelli, the film was released in France on 31 March 1976.

Its storyline is loosely adapted from Kenneth Fearing's 1946 novel The Big Clock — which had already been filmed in 1948 — combined with Corneau's own childhood experiences. The title refers to the Colt Python revolver chambered for the .357 Magnum cartridge. Featuring music by Georges Delerue and produced by Albina du Boisrouvray, the film is also known in some countries as The Case Against Ferro.
