Quiet Days in Clichy

Quiet Days in Clichy (Jours tranquilles à Clichy) is a 1990 erotic drama written and directed by Claude Chabrol, produced as a French-Italian-German co-production involving five companies from the three countries. The film adapts Henry Miller's autobiographical novel of the same name, published in 1956, which had already been brought to the screen in 1970 by Danish director Jens Jørgen Thorsen. Drawing on Miller's years in the Parisian suburb of Clichy, the story follows the bohemian life and romantic entanglements of the writer and his circle. The cast includes Andrew McCarthy, Nigel Havers, Barbara De Rossi, Anna Galiena, Eva Grimaldi, Mario Adorf and Chabrol regular Stéphane Audran.
