Section spéciale

Section spéciale is a 1975 French-Italian-West German courtroom drama directed by Costa-Gavras, who co-wrote the screenplay with Jorge Semprún. Based on Hervé Villeré's novel L'affaire de la Section Spéciale, the film is set in 1941 in German-occupied France and depicts the creation by the Vichy government of a special tribunal to try Resistance fighters or those merely suspected of being part of the Resistance.

The cast includes Louis Seigner, Roland Bertin, Michael Lonsdale, Ivo Garrani, François Maistre, Jacques Spiesser, Heinz Bennent and Claude Piéplu. The film shared the Best Director prize at the 1975 Cannes Film Festival, received a Golden Globe nomination for best foreign film, and was named among the year's best foreign films by the U.S. National Board of Review.
