Sous le ciel de Paris

Sous le ciel de Paris is a 1951 French drama film directed by Julien Duvivier, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Henri Jeanson. Shot at the Billancourt Studios and on location around Paris, the film features sets designed by art director René Moulaert. Its full original title, Sous le ciel de Paris coule la Seine, evokes the river flowing beneath the Parisian sky. The movie gave birth to the famous song of the same name, composed by Hubert Giraud with lyrics by Jean Dréjac and performed in the film by Jean Bretonnière. The song went on to be recorded by Édith Piaf and many other artists, becoming a French classic. The cast includes François Périer and Paul Bisciglia.
