Bastard (Soysuz) (translated)

Soysuz is a 1950 black-and-white Turkish drama film written and directed by Vedat Örfi Bengü, one of the early figures of Turkish cinema. Having a single person handle both screenplay and direction, the film exemplifies a production practice common in the domestic cinema of that era. It was released on 19 October 1950.

Produced by Fuat Rutkay on behalf of Halk Film, the film's cinematographer was Cezmi Ar. The cast includes Şükriye Atav, Cahit Irgat, Handan Adalı, Vedat Karaokçu and Ali Küçük; among them, Cahit Irgat is also known as a poet.
