Stradivari

Stradivari is a 1988 Italian-French biographical drama directed by Giacomo Battiato. The film portrays real events from the life of Antonio Stradivari, the legendary Italian luthier whose violins remain unmatched centuries later. Written by Suso Cecchi d'Amico and Ernesto Gastaldi, the production was shot over sixteen weeks between Cremona, the craftsman's hometown, and the Cinecittà studios in Rome. Anthony Quinn stars in the title role, joined on screen by his three sons with Italian costume designer Iolanda Addolori. The supporting cast includes Stefania Sandrelli, Valérie Kaprisky and Iaia Forte.
