Iaia Forte — Biography

Iaia Forte, born Maria Rosaria Forte on 16 March 1962 in Naples, is an Italian actress who has worked across theatre and film, trained at Rome's Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia. She became widely recognized for playing the lead in Maurizio Nichetti's 1996 comedy Luna e l'altra, a performance that brought her the Nastro d'Argento and, separately, the Globo d'oro, both for best actress, plus a David di Donatello nomination in the same category. She has since built a long list of supporting film roles, appearing alongside Toni Servillo in The Great Beauty (2013) and Loro (2018), as well as in Honey (2013), Leopardi (2014) and La prima pietra (2018). Her filmography also includes Night Bus (2007), The Seed of Discord (2008) and I Killed Napoléon (2015).
