The Avenger of Gyanjebasar

The Avenger of Gyanjebasar, also known as Qatır Məmməd, is a 1974 Soviet-Azerbaijani film produced by the Azerbaijanfilm studio. It marked the directing debut of Rasim Ojagov, who would go on to become one of Azerbaijan's best-known filmmakers. The picture dramatizes the life and deeds of Qatır Məmməd, an outlaw and rebel figure, blending action with historical and biographical elements. The screenplay was written by Mikhail Maklyarsky and Kirill Rapoport, and the cast includes Rasim Balayev and Hasanağa Turabov. Running roughly ninety minutes, the film had its premiere in Moscow in March 1975 and stands as an early work of Soviet-era Azerbaijani cinema.
