The Favourite Son (original title: Le Fils préféré) is a 1994 French drama film directed by Nicole Garcia. The screenplay was co-written by Garcia together with François Dupeyron, Jacques Fieschi and Jérôme Tonnerre. Running about 99 minutes, the story unfolds in the Bouches-du-Rhône region of southern France.

The film stars Gérard Lanvin, Bernard Giraudeau and Jean-Marc Barr, with Roberto Herlitzka, Margherita Buy, Karin Viard and Pierre Mondy also in the cast. It explores family relationships through the complicated bonds between brothers and their father. The film received four nominations at the César Awards, France's national film prize, and won Best Actor for Gérard Lanvin.
