The Happiest Place on Earth

Directed by Marcel Bluwal and released in 1999, this French biographical film traces the final years of the French actor Robert Hugues-Lambert (1908-1945), who died while deported in Germany during the Second World War. The screenplay was written by Jean-Claude Grumberg, bringing the performer's tragic story to the screen.

Running approximately 120 minutes, the production features François Berléand and Jacques Boudet alongside well-known French performers such as Jean-Pierre Cassel, Claude Brasseur, Jacques Bonnaffé and Jean-Claude Adelin. The film is known in its original French as "Le Plus Beau Pays du monde".
