The Twist

The Twist (original French title Folies bourgeoises, roughly "bourgeois madness") is a 1976 French-Italian-West German comedy-drama co-written and directed by Claude Chabrol, with Ennio de Concini sharing the screenplay credit. Adapted from Lucie Faure's novel Le Malheur fou, it offers a satirical look at wealthy bourgeois circles. The film features an international ensemble led by Bruce Dern, Stéphane Audran, Jean-Pierre Cassel, Ann-Margret, Maria Schell, Charles Aznavour and Curd Jürgens. It received a lukewarm response from critics on release.
