They Call Me Trinity

This 1970 Italian spaghetti Western comedy was written and directed by Enzo Barboni under the pseudonym E.B. Clucher, produced by Italo Zingarelli with financial backing from West Film. Terence Hill and Bud Spencer star as half-brothers Trinity and Bambino, who help defend a Mormon settlement against Mexican bandits and the henchmen of land-grabbing Major Harriman. Filming took place on location at Campo Imperatore in Abruzzo, Italy.

Following the gritty Italian Westerns of the 1960s, it was the first Hill-Spencer Western conceived as a comedy, drawing its humor from quick banter and brawls and paving the way for the duo's 1970s films. A major hit that launched its stars to international fame, it spawned the even more successful 1971 sequel Trinity Is Still My Name, made by the same director and duo. The cast also includes Farley Granger, Steffen Zacharias and Gisela Hahn.
