Trains'n'Roses

Trains'n'Roses (original German title Zugvögel … Einmal nach Inari) is a 1998 romantic comedy written and directed by Peter Lichtefeld. A German-Finnish co-production made with Westdeutscher Rundfunk and Bosko Biati Film, it runs about 87 minutes and mixes German and Finnish dialogue.

The story follows Hannes, a Dortmund truck driver with a passion for railway timetables, who sets out for the Finnish town of Inari to compete in a timetable-knowledge contest. When his boss is found dead, Hannes becomes the prime suspect and is pursued across Scandinavia, growing close to the Finnish woman Sirpa along the way.

Joachim Król heads a cast that also features Outi Mäenpää, Kati Outinen, Kari Väänänen, Nina Petri, Peter Lohmeyer and Jochen Nickel, alongside Hilmi Sözer. The score was composed by Christian Steyer.
