Un monde nouveau
Un monde nouveau is a 1966 French-Italian drama film directed by Vittorio De Sica, from a screenplay by his longtime collaborator Cesare Zavattini. Shot in French, the black-and-white production premiered in France on 13 May 1966 and was produced by Harry Saltzman.
Set in Paris, the story follows a young couple whose lives are thrown into turmoil by an unplanned pregnancy. The expectant young woman and her lover find themselves facing an agonizing choice over whether to keep the child, a struggle that tests their relationship and their hopes for the future. Nino Castelnuovo and Christine Delaroche lead the cast, supported by Georges Wilson, Jean-Pierre Darras, Françoise Brion, Charles Millot and Laure Paillette. The film is also remembered for a brief appearance by Sean Connery playing himself.
