Monsieur
Monsieur is a 1964 comedy film directed by Jean-Paul Le Chanois and produced as a co-production between France, Italy and West Germany. Adapted from the stage play of the same name by Claude Gevel, with a screenplay by Pascal Jardin, the French-language picture stars Jean Gabin alongside Liselotte Pulver, Mireille Darc and Philippe Noiret. Running about 105 minutes, it features sets designed by Jean Mandaroux and a score by Georges Van Parys. The production is also remembered as the final screen appearance of veteran actress Gaby Morlay, whose long career ended with this role. A typical example of the multinational European comedies of its era, the film brought together performers from several national cinemas under Le Chanois's direction.
