The Gardener of Argenteuil

The Gardener of Argenteuil (French: Le Jardinier d'Argenteuil) is a 1966 Franco-West German crime comedy directed by Jean-Paul Le Chanois and written by Alphonse Boudard. The film stars Jean Gabin, Liselotte Pulver and Curd Jürgens in the leading roles, was shot in French and runs about 86 minutes. In Germany it was released under the title Blüten, Gauner und die Nacht von Nizza.

Shooting took place at the Victorine Studios in Nice as well as on location around Paris, including the town of Argenteuil, where much of the story is set. The film's sets were designed by art director Paul-Louis Boutié. As a French-German co-production of its era, it stands out for its strong ensemble cast and lighthearted take on the crime genre.
