Volkan Keskin — Biography

Volkan Keskin was born on 16 August 1983 in Samsun. As the son of a police superintendent, his family moved frequently and he attended school in several Anatolian provinces before studying electronics at 19 Mayıs University and business administration at Anadolu University, later completing a graduate degree in theatre and television acting at Haliç University. He began modeling in 2005, signing with a London-based agency and working extensively in runway shows, before making his television debut as the lead in the 2007 series Dağlar Delisi.

In 2010 he was cast to play Balaban in the historical epic Fetih 1453, but broke a finger in an on-set accident and had to withdraw before completing the role. He found more lasting success in 2013 playing the title character in Karaoğlan, based on Suat Yalaz's classic comic-book hero, previously portrayed on screen by actors including Kartal Tibet. In 2015 he took a leading role in Yarının Adı Başka, the first Turkey-Iran co-production, shot partly in Iran, and also appeared in Vay Başıma Gelenler 2,5. He joined the Kanal D series İsimsizler in 2017, playing the character Kürşat. An enthusiastic horseman, he trains regularly and has studied boxing and self-defense.
