Zeynep Irgat — Biography

Zeynep Irgat was born on 14 July 1954 in Istanbul, daughter of writer Mina Urgan and poet-actor Cahit Irgat, and sister of actor Mustafa Irgat. She holds a degree in French Language and Literature from Istanbul University's Faculty of Letters.

Her artistic career began in 1977 when she enrolled in courses run by Dostlar Tiyatrosu; she went on to perform in numerous productions with the Istanbul City Theatres and the State Theatre, worked as an assistant director, and trained as an intern at the Comédie Française in Paris. On film she appeared in Hakkari'de Bir Mevsim and Bir Küçük Bulut during the 1980s.

Television viewers first came to know her through the servant character Ayşe in Bizimkiler, followed by roles in Baharın Bittiği Yer, Komşu Komşu, Günahım Neydi Allahım, Canım Ailem, Yağmur Zamanı, Yemin, Son Tercih and Küçük Hanımefendi. Between 2015 and 2018 she reached a wide audience playing Hediye in ATV's Kırgın Çiçekler.
