Zihni Küçümen — Biography
Zihni Küçümen was born in Istanbul on February 16, 1929, and was educated at Kabataş Erkek Lisesi (Kabataş Boys' High School). A stage actor with companies such as the State Theatre (Devlet Tiyatrosu) and Dostlar Tiyatrosu, he also worked as a translator and writer, and in 1975 won first prize in an essay competition held by Milliyet Sanat magazine.
On screen, Küçümen appeared in productions including Yorgun Savaşçı (1979), Pjort'lu Hoca (1985), and Av Zamanı (1988), and he is also credited as a screenwriter on the 1983 television series Kuruntu Ailesi. He was the father of actress Oya Küçümen, a connection for which he is also remembered in the Turkish film community.
Zihni Küçümen died in Istanbul on June 26, 1996.
