Nüvit Özdoğru — Biography
Nüvit Özdoğru (1925, Istanbul – June 20, 2002, Istanbul) was a Turkish theatre and film actor, translator and poet. Educated at Robert College, he was remembered for character roles on screen alongside his long theatre career. Following the series Yorgun Savaşçı (1979), he appeared in films such as Ölürayak (1990), Cazibe Hanımın Gündüz Düşleri (1992) and Akrebin Yolculuğu (1997), playing Tahir in the former and Katip in the latter. Also known for his work as a translator, his name returned to the headlines years after his death when new stagings of Amadeus were mounted in 2020 and 2021. He passed away in Istanbul on June 20, 2002.
