Baran Akbulut — Biography

Baran Akbulut was born in Istanbul in 1984 and trained in the theatre department of Anadolu University's State Conservatory before moving into television. He began his screen career with the role of the chauffeur Beşir in the 2008-2010 series Aşk-ı Memnu, adapted from Halid Ziya Uşaklıgil's novel of the same name; in later interviews he said he had specifically asked to play that part and described how he said goodbye to the character when the show ended.

He went on to appear in the series Yunus Emre Aşkın Yolculuğu, Behzat Ç. Bir Ankara Polisiyesi and Yedi Güzel Adam, and moved into film with roles including Veli in Çanakkale 1915, alongside Son, El Yazısı and Usta. From 2016 he played Ömer in the ATV series Aşk ve Mavi, and later appeared in productions such as Bircanlar Lokantası, Aziz and Dünya Bu. In February 2026 he joined the cast of Kuruluş Orhan, playing the character Germiyanoğlu Mehmet Bey.
