Bilge Zobu — Biography
Bilge Zobu, whose full name is Mehmet Nuri Bilge Zobu (born 7 September 1932 in Istanbul), is a Turkish stage, film and television actor. He turned to acting after finishing high school; he is credited with more than thirty films since 1958, and Turkish cinema databases list well over seventy acting credits for him.
A familiar character actor of the Yeşilçam era, he appeared in films such as Oh, Beautiful Istanbul (1966, as Şakir), Öyle Olsun (1976, as a newspaper owner), King of the Doormen (1976, as Zafer Bey), İbo ile Güllüşah (1977), Zübük (1980), Baş Belası, The Honest One (1984), The Naked Citizen (1985) and Gırgır Hafiye (1986). On television he featured in productions including Perihan Abla, Çalıkuşu, Bizim Mahalle (as Fahri) and Şaban Askerde, while the 2007 drama Beyaz Melek is among his most recent screen work.
In July 2026 the Turkish press reported that the 93-year-old actor had been photographed in public for the first time in many years.
