Doğu Demirkol — Biography

Aydın Doğu Demirkol was born on September 6, 1988, in Ankara. He is a computer engineering graduate.

After appearing on the talent show Yetenek Sizsiniz and gaining attention with his videos on social media, he began his stage career through the open-mic nights at BKM, joined the Güldür Güldür troupe and became known for his sold-out one-man stand-up shows.

He entered cinema with Ölümlü Dünya (2018) and went on to appear in Ahlat Ağacı (2018), Bayi Toplantısı (2020), Tutunamayanlar (2020), Ölümlü Dünya 2 (2023) and Hayat (2023). With both Ahlat Ağacı and Hayat submitted as Turkey's candidates for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film, he became the fifth actor with two films put forward in that category. His series Doğu, inspired by his own life, returned for a fourth season on HBO Max in 2026.
