Éric Berger — Biography
French actor Éric Berger has worked in cinema and television since the early 1990s. His name is tied above all to two roles: Julien "Breitling" Madigan in Quatre garçons pleins d'avenir and the title part in the 2001 film Tanguy, which he played again in the 2019 sequel Tanguy, le retour.
He trained at Cours Florent and at the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique in Paris. He began in films of the early 1990s such as Montparnasse-Pondichéry, followed by Tom est tout seul and Nitrato d'argento. Quatre garçons pleins d'avenir followed in 1997, and in 2001 Tanguy gave him the lead. Later he played Ludo Burrel in La confiance règne (Just Trust) and Tristan De Courson in Bitter Victory, and appeared in titles such as Pıtırcık (with Sandrine Kiberlain), Neuilly sa mère! and Beur sur la ville. His filmography also includes Crash Test Aglaé, alongside Anémone and Hanns Zischler.
He has acted in more than forty films and was nominated for the César Award for most promising actor. On television he has appeared in Julie Lescaut, Avocats & Associés, Profilage and Maigret, as well as Palizzi and Au siècle de Maupassant. In Montparnasse-Pondichéry he had played a character named Paul.
