Necla Nazır — Biography
Necla Nazır is a Turkish actress and singer born on 16 April 1956 in İskeçe (Xanthi), a town now part of Greece. She spent part of her childhood in Istanbul's Eyüpsultan district and left school after middle school. In 1972 she won first place in an acting contest organized by Ses magazine, which opened the door to her film career; her first movie, "Istırap," followed a year later.
Through the 1970s and 1980s, Nazır became a recognizable face of Turkish arabesque-themed cinema, frequently appearing on screen alongside singer Ferdi Tayfur, with whom she also shared her personal life; the couple had a daughter, Tuğçe Tayfur. She stepped away from acting in 2008 and later hosted television programs. In 2018 she received the Golden Orange Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of her long career.
In early 2026, Nazır's name resurfaced in the press amid an inheritance dispute pursued by her daughter over the estate of the late Ferdi Tayfur, though she has largely declined to comment publicly on the matter.
