Öztürk Serengil — Biography

Öztürk Serengil was born on 2 May 1930 in Hopa, Artvin, the son of a schoolteacher named Turgut. He left school before finishing and made his stage debut in 1953 in the play "Oğlum Edvard," later performing with the Oda Tiyatrosu and the Istanbul City Theatre.

Serengil became one of Turkish cinema's most memorable comic villains, appearing in more than 150 films between the 1960s and the 1990s. He was widely recognized for his roles in films such as Siyah Melek, Lafını Balla Kestim, and Beyoğlu Esrarı, establishing himself as one of the era's most sought-after supporting actors.

He died in Istanbul on 11 January 1999. His legacy has been kept alive in part by his daughter, actress and television personality Seren Serengil, who has often spoken publicly about her father's memory.
