The Three Superboys in the Snow (Babanın Evlatları)
Released on 1 February 1977, Babanın Evlatları (internationally The Three Superboys in the Snow) is a 90-minute colour Turkish adventure comedy. Directed by Natuk Baytan from a script by Fuat Özlüer and Erdoğan Tünaş, it is a Turkish-Italian co-production from Erler Film. Çetin Gürtop was the director of photography. German-speaking markets got it on video in 1985 as 3 Teufelskerle lachen alles nieder.
The story begins when Cafer (Öztürk Serengil), a bank teller worn out by his marriage and his swarm of children, embezzles a large sum and lands in prison. Three convicted robbers, Pire Mehmet (Robert Widmark), Fırıldak Ömer (Tarık Akan) and Cin Ali (Beyk İmanverdi), get themselves jailed to learn where the money is and to get close to Cafer. The trio break out and take him along, but each tries to kidnap him separately so as not to share the loot. When the mobster Beşir (Hüseyin Alp), who also wants Cafer to talk, joins in, the chase, disguises and chaos escalate. Cross-dressing, Uludağ, cable cars and the Pera Palas also figure in the events.
Foreign sources also name Ernst Hofbauer as director, and foreign versions credit cast and crew under English-sounding pseudonyms. Dubbing and colouring were done at Acar Film.
