Seda Bakan — Biography

Born on 10 October 1985 in Gebze, Kocaeli, Seda Bakan comes from a Bosnian father and a mother of Thessaloniki-Drama immigrant background. She graduated in Foreign Trade from Sakarya University, then trained as an actress at the TÜRVAK Cinema-TV Training Center; she started out as a television presenter before taking small parts in commercials and the series Pars Narkoterör and Sana Mecburum.

Her breakthrough came with Eda, the character she played in the crime series Behzat Ç. Bir Ankara Polisiyesi, a role she carried into two film sequels, Behzat Ç. Seni Kalbime Gömdüm and Behzat Ç. Ankara Yanıyor. Playing Feyza in the comedy series Kardeş Payı raised her profile further, and in the 2015-2016 season she sat on the judging panel of Yetenek Sizsiniz Türkiye; her film Arif V 216 went on to become one of the most-watched productions in Turkish box-office history.

She later took roles in the series Bana Sevmeyi Anlat and Mucize Doktor, played Leyla in Netflix's Zeytin Ağacı, and returned to comedy with Gelin Takımı and its sequel. Her 2014 marriage to musician Ali Erel produced two daughters, one of them named Leyla.
