Seray Sever — Biography

Seray Sever was born on 27 February 1973 in Istanbul. She finished high school at Doğuş Koleji, where she placed in TÜBİTAK's national mathematics awards, and later graduated in economics from Boğaziçi University. She entered television as host of the talent contest Popstop, took small parts in several films during the 1990s, and had her acting breakthrough in 2001 with the series Dadı. She went on to appear in series such as Kurtlar Vadisi, Ev Hali, Çocuklar Ne Olacak, Erkeksen Seyret, Sıkı Dostlar, Artı 18 and Yalan Dünya, and in films including Banyo, Bayrampaşa: Ben Fazla Kalmayacağım, Maskeli Beşler: Kıbrıs and Manda Yuvası. In 2017 she played Güneş in Klavye Delikanlıları, and in 2019 Ecrin in Doğduğun Ev Kaderindir.

Alongside acting she has hosted numerous TV programs, released a five-track album titled "Yeni Bir Karar" in 2006, and made headlines that year for throwing coffee at a guest's face on a show hosted by Savaş Ay. In 2008 she founded Zodyak Prodüksiyon, producing series including Sen Harikasın, Artı 18 and Aşk Kaç Beden Giyer?, and helped bring the Kiehl's cosmetics brand to Turkey through a business partnership. Married to Eray Sünbül and mother of twin daughters Sofia and Alya, Sever lost her father, Tamer Sever, to COVID-19 in March 2022.
