Serenay Sarıkaya — Biography

Serenay Sarıkaya was born on 1 July 1991; after her parents separated she lived for a time in Antalya before settling in Istanbul with her mother. In 2007, at fifteen, she won the Jury Special Award at the European Beauty Youth Competition in the Czech Republic; her first acting role came with the film Şaşkın (2006), followed by Plajda (2008) and Sinan Çetin's series Peri Masalı and Limon Ağacı, and she played Sofia, daughter of Oktay Kaynarca's character, in Adanalı (2008-2010). In 2010 she placed second in Miss Turkey and qualified to represent Turkey at Miss Universe, but withdrew to continue acting.

She raised her profile through Lale Devri (2010-2013) and Medcezir (2013-2015), the latter opposite Çağatay Ulusoy; she appeared in Behzat Ç. Ankara Yanıyor (2013) and İkimizin Yerine (2016), fronted campaigns for Mavi Jeans and Elidor, was named GQ Turkey's Woman of the Year in 2014, and won two Golden Butterfly awards. In 2017 she played Duru in the Puhu TV series Fi, and in 2019 made her stage debut in Alice Müzikali.
