Merve Çağıran — Biography

Merve Çağıran was born in Balıkesir on 13 July 1992. Her family moved to İzmir when she was small, and she completed her schooling there, graduating in 2010 from Konak Vali Gönül Anatolian High School. Realising she had a talent for the stage, she trained as an actress at the Akademi 35 Buçuk art house, and in 2011 she moved to Istanbul.

She first appeared on camera in 2010 in Tek Türkiye and gained experience in series such as Şefkat Tepe, Elde Var Hayat, Kavak Yelleri and Kaçak Gelinler. Her breakthrough came in 2015 as Janset in Tatlı Küçük Yalancılar, and the following year her role as İpek Barbaros in Aşk Laftan Anlamaz brought her a far wider audience. She moved into cinema in 2016 with İkimizin Yerine, alongside Serenay Sarıkaya and Nejat İşler, and in 2018 played Gaye in Kaybedenler Kulübü Yolda. That rapid rise was recognised with the Shining Star award at the 2018 Golden Butterfly Awards.

After Fi, Kalp Atışı and the web series Bozkır, she played Meral Aksu in Çarpışma opposite Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ, Akça Yılmaz in Çocuk and Hande Varoğlu in Kalp Yarası. She later appeared as Sofia in the series Teşkilat, and in November 2025 joined the cast of Sakıncalı.
