For the Two of Us (İkimizin Yerine) (translated)

İkimizin Yerine (For the Two of Us) is a 2016 Turkish romantic drama film directed by Umur Turagay from a screenplay by Pınar Bulut. The 126-minute Taff Pictures production stars Serenay Sarıkaya and Nejat İşler; it marks Sarıkaya's first leading role in a feature film and İşler's return to the big screen after a long absence. The ensemble also includes Zerrin Tekindor, İştar Gökseven, Özgür Emre Yıldırım, Merve Çağıran and Aslı Bekiroğlu.

Çiçek, a young woman trapped in the life her family has imposed on her in a small town, falls in love with Doğan, a mysterious literature teacher newly arrived in town. Though Doğan resists the forbidden affair, he cannot stay away, and the bond between the two wounded souls changes the fate of an entire family. Shot in Bursa and released on 21 October 2016, the film drew 330,000 viewers in its first three days, the best opening for a Turkish romance in a decade.
