Uğur Uzunel — Biography

Uğur Uzunel is a Turkish actor born on 12 November 1988 in the Kadifekale neighbourhood of İzmir's Konak district. Drawn to acting from an early age, he took part in theatre from his primary-school years, performed for a long time with the Bilimsel Tiyatro Atölyesi, and graduated from the Acting Department of Dokuz Eylül University's Faculty of Fine Arts. He was a company actor at the Bornova Municipal City Theatre, co-founded a theatre group called İn'taKt with friends, and appeared in plays such as Penetratör and İstibdat Kumpanyası. He made his film debut in titles including Kumdan Kale and Ferahfeza, and took his first television role in 2012 in the series Ağır Roman Yeni Dünya.

His television career continued with Şeref Meselesi (2014), and he reached a wider audience playing İsmet in Aşk ve Mavi. Following the series Halka and Afili Aşk, he gained major popularity as Esat Bilen in the TRT 1 hit Masumlar Apartmanı, a performance for which he won a best breakout actor award in 2021. He has continued his career with Sıfırıncı Gün, the 2022 film ANKA and the 2024 series Senden Önce, while also continuing his work in theatre.
