Sezgin Erdemir — Biography

Sezgin Erdemir was born on 12 January 1976 in Istanbul. He graduated from the Tourism and Hotel Management Department at Akdeniz University, and moved into acting after a background in basketball.

He stepped in front of the camera in the 1995 series Kader, and gained wide recognition with the series Koçum Benim; he also took roles in productions such as Arka Sokaklar, Mahpeyker Kösem Sultan, Yol Arkadaşım, Kertenkele and Türkler Geliyor: Adaletin Kılıcı. In film, he took on the role of Kitapçı in the 2008 movie Alone and Celal in the 2014 movie Muska.

He reached a much wider audience playing Sungurtekin Bey in Diriliş Ertuğrul, and also had a role in Kuruluş Osman; he played Timur Melik in Bozkır Arslanı Celaleddin and appeared in the cast of Kudüs Fatihi Selahaddin Eyyubi. News outlets reported that in November 2024 he was attacked by three people while driving, and that two of the attackers were later arrested.
