Oh, This Youth! (Ah Bu Gençlik) (translated)
Ah Bu Gençlik (Oh, This Youth!) is a 1976 Turkish–Iranian co-production directed by Ertem Göreç and Jamshid Sheybani. A remake of a 1975 film bearing the same title, it played in Iranian cinemas under the name Khanoum Delesh Motour Mikhad. The story follows Cemile (Pouri Banayi), a young fisherwoman who shares her life with her grandfather Salih and longs for nothing more than a motorized boat of her own. Knowing that fishing will never pay for such a purchase, Salih parts with the tavern he operates and hands the money to his granddaughter, dispatching her to Istanbul to buy the vessel. En route she crosses paths with Cemal, the gambling grandson of a rich businessman, and soon finds herself swept up in an unplanned string of comic misadventures.
